Let’s see, what can I tell you about GA Camp in Blowing Rock, NC and the time with my family…
Well, it was absolutely amazing when I was reunited with all my wonderful loves from GA from previous years. I got to be back with my boys, got to chill with my girls, and got to meet some awesome new people, as well. Sunday night, I talked with Chris and Nate about helping out, and I ended up helping Nate with games for the week, which was excellent. It allowed me to hang out with everyone and get to know people better. I’ll try to get a photo blog up later with highlights from my summer.
Thursday night, Andrew drove 7 hours (I love him) to spend Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning with me and my family. He was exhausted when he arrived, but it was good to see him and finally introduce him to my Grandmother. In the short while he was in Blowing Rock with us, I introduced him to all my friends down at the camp, taught him Ninja Tag (ask me!!), brought him to the Viaduct, the Mast General Store, had dinner at the Golden Corral, hiked through Linnville Falls, saw Batman: The Dark Knight, and did a bunch of other awesome Blowing Rock-Blue Ridge things.
Saturday morning, I had to say goodbye to all my friends from GA and to Charlie and Will. In a way, this goodbye was almost harder than ACCOVAC, although I didn’t cry at this one. It was almost harder because the next day I would be leaving the south, and these people were my last connections with those I love in the south so much.
On Sunday, mom, dad, Lindsey, Aunt Melodie, Grandmother, Andrew, and I went out to Canyons, a wonderful restaraunt that overlooks the Blue Ridge Mountains and has a jazz brunch on Sunday mornings with live music and amazing food. It was a really nice way to send us off. After eating til we were ready to burst, dad, Andrew, and I started making our way north. I rode with Andrew til we got to Staunton, VA, and then said goodbye to him and rode with my dad to my grandparents house in Sterling, CT (which we arrived to at about 4AM).
Monday afternoon, dad and I got back in the car and finished the journey to home in NH. I spent all of Monday lounging and lazying, which was great, especially since I would be leaving the next day to work at SoulFest for the rest of the week. WHICH, speaking of, I will tell you about in my next post so that you can be all caught up on all that I did!
Thanks for keeping up with me, guys! Sorry it has taken me so long to post everything!
