The Absence of Summer 2012

You may (or may not) be wondering why it’s been so long since I’ve posted anything. Because we all know (or at least are about to know) that I love writing and blogging and telling/sharing stories. Well, there’s one word that sums up my absence: SUMMER.

No, I’m not on some kind of school vacation (I graduated from college 3 years ago) or some sort of beach holiday where I spend every free moment at the beach (though I do love the beach). The reality is that summer is not only wedding season, but also SoulFest season, and being involved in these two lovely things tends to take up a fair bit of my time.

Adventure Bound (and Determined)

Spring. As soon as the weather starts getting warmer and the sun starts feeling happier, I start getting the itch for adventures and finding myself more awake and ready to make plans. The best part? I’ve already got a lot of awesome things coming up that I wanted to share with you guys (and sometimes it helps my brain remember when I write it all out).

Unplugged Weekend

I’ve started planning this amazing ladies-only getaway… The idea would be to go away for the weekend somewhere in New England that isn’t a crazy far drive where we can all “unplug” – turn off cellphones, laptops, cable TV…

Wedding Season 2011: Top Picks

After an absolutely fantastic and CRAZY wedding season, I felt it completely appropriate to share some of my favorite memories, couples and photographs with you all. It was an absolute honor to photograph and each of the weddings I was a part of this year. Every couple was absolutely amazing – and each wedding stood out in its own way. And so, I thought it would be neat to have a little awards ceremony – a crazy little way to show some extra love to the couples, friends & family that I was so blessed to get to know for the 2011 Wedding Season.

Hello, September!

Never thought I would let this much time pass before another post or update on life. But it’s a good thing, because I’ve been busy and life’s been changing. : )


First off, I pretty much love my job. I spend the day working on marketing initiatives (and yes, this includes doing research on Facebook and Twitter : P ) and running through procedures for enrolling students in all different types of courses here, online and in other New Horizons locations. I work 8-5 and take an hour for lunch around 1pm – usually I go home and hang out with Stuart on the couch during this time. : ) I’m past my probationary period, so now it’s official that this is my job for more than just the short term.
